   The Kamtech Range Extender is a super efficient electric power source that is cleaner than grid power, and lighter than batteries, which can be incorporated into the design of an EV.  Because it is far cleaner than the electric power generated by the large less efficient steam engine heated by coal, natural gas, or petroleum it's better for the environment.   Any vehicle that incorporates a Kamtech EV will be vastly cleaner, and more user-friendly than any BEV, Hybrid, or ICE-powered car.  Kamtech's RE's simply provides electricity when needed.  Unlike hybrid engines, it is small and sized to the average needs of the vehicle, not its minimum needs.  It is far less costly than the batteries it replaces, and its manufacture has a fraction of the environmental impact.  It totally eliminates range anxiety.  And in the event it needs fixing it can be quickly replaced with a new or rebuilt unit in less than an hour at a dealership.  It generates far cleaner power than the grid in every part of the world.  

    A Kamtech-equipped REEV can operate on a variety of fuels. Besides gasoline, which can be found almost everywhere, it can also run on compressed natural gas, which is piped directly to hundreds of millions of homes in the developed world.    A low-cost gas compressor would allow home recharging similar to home-charged BEVs.  It can also use one of the fuels that are now considered to be Zero Emission, like methanol, or biogas. This would make a Kamtech REEV truly a "Zero Emission Vehicle".

   Kamtech’s “Range Extender” can easily be integrated into several new vehicle designs, to fit the lifestyles of all market segments. New REEV designs can be lowered by 10-12 cm as the smaller battery pack no longer needs to be under the whole floor. The small size and light weight of Kamtech's RE allow designers to place it in response to function or style rather than just under a long hood. This allows for better balance and lower vehicle weight, which means faster stopping and better handling.

   Because it is a combustion engine Kamtech it can use its waste heat to warm the cabin without any loss of range. This problem has caused thousands of EV drivers to finish their winter trips on the back of a car hauler, or to shiver in a cold car for several km to save range.

   Kamtech-powered vehicle can be refueled at any petrol station.  So its owner will never suffer from “range anxiety”!  The small Kamtech engine can also provide direct power an air conditioner compressor to cool the car without limiting its range.  Kamtech's RE brings the mental and physical comfort of a gas-guzzling car to the BEV world, while at the same time causing far less CO2 than the most efficient BEV and lowering fuel cost when compared to the most efficient hybrid.

   The Kamtech-equipped REEV does all this with a battery pack 1/5 the size and weight of a standard BEV. This makes it a perfect fit for a world wanting to lower its CO2 emission. Using a smaller battery will lower EV manufacturing costs significantly, thereby expanding the market.

Also important is its small size. The Kamtech engine is a 2-stroke multi-cylinder radial with pistons driven by a specially shaped cam. Such a layout gives the Kamtech engine perfect balance. Kamtech's small 8-cylinder engine has 16 combustion events each rotation, while a standard inline 4 engine has only 2 combustion events each rotation. The result was the group's 4th US prototype produced 45 kWh, weighed just 25 Kg, and was close to 50% efficient. (Slide #2)

   Finally, a Kamtech-equipped REEV can provide emergency power to the owner's home in case of a regional utility power outage. This ability may be an important marketing advantage to owners as the move to renewable energy sources is expected to make local and regional power outages more and more common.
